My wife and I looked for a house in Toronto for months. After seeing dozens of houses discouragement set in and we began to give up hope and resigned ourselves to continued renting. I was relaying our sad story to a close friend who immediately put me in touch with her real estate agent, Alice Kent. She was wonderful! Night and day compared to our last agent, who would send us the same listings repeatedly, and show us houses we had already found ourselves on MLS. I felt that Alice 'got us' immediately, and understood intrinsically what we were looking for. Unlike our previous experience, I didn't get the impression she was only working for her commission. I really feel that Alice finds joy in helping people buy homes they will love to live in. She only suggested houses that we really wanted to see, often before they were listed on MLS. The first house we saw with Alice, we put a bid in and ended up in a bidding war. She was a great help guiding us through the battle, and although we didn't win that house, I'm happy I didn't purchase it at the price it sold for. Two houses later, she found us a much better house that suited all our needs. With the help of her savvy we got the house for 25k less than asking! She was also able to help us get a great home inspection and connect us with several great contractors to help us with some reno on our new home. Alice's experience and thorough understanding of the housing market in Toronto combined with her intimate knowledge of Toronto neighbourhoods and culture helped us find the house we wanted. My wife and I are now very happy raising our kids in our wonderful home.
